Marcie wanted to throw a murder mystery party before she had her baby, so I decided I would help her.  We ended up having the dinner party at my parents' home because it is great for gatherings.  We did a Cafe Rio style menu and I think it all turned out so yummy!  I am not sure why, but I like my homemade version better than the actual restaurant's.  The murder mystery was a literary theme and all the characters were characters from books.  We made the dressing up mandatory, naturally :)
Ammon as "Prince Charming"
Tasha as "W.W."
Josh as "Sherlock Holmes"
Kristy as "Rapunzel"
T.J. as "Hamlet"
Nikki as "Katherine"
Jake as "The Count"
Marcie as "Red Riding Hood"
Nate as "Robin Hood"
Stephanie as "Snow White"
Steve as "John Silver"
Julie as "Juliet"
Brad as "Mad Hatter"
Carmen as "Alice"
Everyone did a great job questioning people and trying to find out who murdered Sheherazade.  Sherlock Holmes was in character the whole time, smoking his pipe and questioning everyone.  John Silver and Snow White tied for best costume, they both looked really great.  Be sure to look at Prince Charming's shoes.  His occupation was a shoe designer, so those were pretty sweet!  I think it turned out to be a lot of fun and I want to do it again.  In the end, John Silver was the murderer . . . never trust a pirate.
