I can barely believe that Zander is already one year old. Where has the time gone? His birthday was on the 7th. To celebrate, we had a little cake party with all of his grandparents, and even one great-grandparent.I learned that it takes three boys to open his presents, and takes five boys to put them together. Thanks to the grandpas, dad and Brinton for all that help.When it was time for the cake, Brinton blew out Zander's candle before he could even try to burn himself. He really wasn't sure what to do with it at first. My favorite part of the night - Zander picked up the entire cake with both hands and just tried to shove it in his mouth. After each of those times, he then tried to bury his face in the cake and eat it with no hands (Brinton must have taught him that). He figured out how to eat it pretty quick. He got so messy that he had to have a mini shower in the kitchen sink before he could have a bath with Brinton (who, by the way, had to eat his cupcake in the same fashion as his brother).Zander is walking about eight feet by himself and climbs up everything. He loves to sneak into the bathroom to climb up the step-stool so he can see the cute baby in the mirror. It scares me a bit because that could be quite a fall. He can get on Brinton's little black chair and tries to get from that one over to the couch. There have been several falls with that attempt already. He is getting better about climbing down carefully and loving to walk around. He currently has just three teeth with another that should break through within the next couple days. This little guy loves, loves, loves his dad and Brinton. Don't worry, he loves his mom, too . . . just when the boys aren't around. Zander is only 19 pounds which puts him in the 5th percentile. That is the highest percentile he has been in and is doing great that way. He is in the 67th percentile for his height. Tall and skinny, just like his dad :) We figured that with Zander being so old (ha ha), we should probably have another one. December 11th sounds like a good time.
