. . . That's how many lights are on our Christmas tree!Don't be confused, it is only 7 feet tall but it has some serious foliage. Every year, Steve cuts down our tree somewhere in the Uintah Forest. You have to go stand in line ahead of time to get a tree permit and then you can go whenever you want to actually get the tree. Conley came earlier than expected so I stayed home with the three boys. . . and by home I mean went to my parents' house and spent some time with my Mom. Oh, and just to be honest, I probably wouldn't have gone anyway. I haven't for the last couple of years. Our kids are a little too young to be sledding for hours while the men get the trees. Plus, there really is no need for me to go because Steve does an awesome job every year finding us a great tree. My dad and a few of my brothers always go and it's so much fun to hear about their adventures. We got the tree the day after Thanksgiving and have been in the Christmas mood ever since. This year, we let Brinton help Steve put some lights out on our patio. We bundled Brinton and Zander up like they were going to play in the snow even though there wasn't any because it was so, so, so cold that night. They had a lot of fun although Zander had a hard time even moving around. They didn't really last the whole time and ended up eating some fruit snacks inside while Steve finished. Every night when I plug in the lights, Brinton likes to watch. Every time, he says, "wow!" Christmas time is so wonderful when looking through the eyes of a child. I am so glad that we have them to help us remember how something simple can be so special. On that note . . .
