The day before Easter this year, we had two Easter Egg Hunts. The first one was at our ward building and it ended up being inside because of the weather. The hunt was pretty easy for the younger kids since they were just dumped mostly on the floor, but Brinton still loved it. He filled up his bucket and then opened all the eggs to see what was inside. Luckily, he got two dollars and we used that to get him some stretchy rubber snakes a few days later.
Brinton ended up spilling his bucket of eggs and then didn't want to clean it up. Instead, he thought he should just eat the candies one at a time. Of course Zander wasn't much into the egg hunting that morning, but he was happy as a clam anyhow. I had to throw in a few random pictures of him from that day and I was glad to get one of him loving "Frowzy." Zander has always adored all animals. He gets so excited and even laughs out loud when he sees a cat or dog up close.
After the ward hunt, we had the annual Easter Egg Hunt at Grandpa and Nana Bishop's house. The dads always help hide the eggs just before everyone can go out, which means the kids have to wait in the house for a little bit with the blinds closed. Brinton was not happy that his dad got to go outside and he couldn't " go uh-side wit Dad," but his spirits brightened up a bit when he learned how to peek outside through the blinds with a cousin.
Steve helped Zander find his eggs which, by the way, are one of his favorite toys these days. Brinton had the egg hunting down all by himself at this point. Once the kids find the right amount of plastic eggs and the one real egg that has their name on it, they go to Grandpa and Nana to pick a prize. The grandparents have a basket full of tons of fun things so it can be hard to pick. Brinton wanted to choose some Dora the Explorer thing, so I persuaded him to get something he would like better (ha ha, I'm so mean). It was a bunny catch game with velcro mitts and a stuffed bunny. Zander got a cute rattle/teether.
We had so much fun being with some of the people we love most. I ate both of the boys' hard boiled eggs and we all shared the candy. It's great having kids so I can have the goodies, too :)

Your family is so fun! Sounds like a great time. :)
You are so mean Mommy! I want Dora! :) JK - sounds like a fun egg hunting weekend! I told the easter bunny all the candy that mommy likes so he would bring that and nothing would go to waste!
You persuaded Brinton for the greater good, right??? It's likely I would have done the same!!!
Sounds like a wonderful Easter!!
I think maybe you need to be in some pictures - FYI!! :)
Your boys are too cute. Sorry the ward easter egg hunt had to be inside. No joke- just as we stepped outside to scatter the eggs, it started to sprinkle. Serves me right for praying for good weather! Glad you got to have a fun outdoor hunt with family. Looks like it was a ton of fun!
